Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the golf course industry in 1953, describing the labor force. Explains that "only too often the superintendent starts the season with not more than one to three workmen, and then he must wait until summer and recruit untrained, student help. Some of the boys are good, but even those who are eager to do a job do not have the know-how, and it has complicated the matter of maintenance." Also discusses the use of Bermudagrass, stating that "the interest and use of selected strains of Bermudas is snowballing." |
