| USGA Summary Points: | The US National Arboretum will co-host the American Public Gardens Association conference in June, 2019. We expect Grass Roots to play a significant role in this hosting as the conference provides a special opportunity to outreach to public garden professionals. The Arboretum Grass Roots exhibit hosted an estimated 25.000-30,000 visitors in 2018. The 'Grass Roots' website (www.usna.usda.gov/Education/turfgrass.html) complements the educational concepts in the exhibit and contains information about the benefits of turfgrass, basic lawn care information, and links to state turfgrass extension education websites. Geoff Rinehart conducted four lawn care workshops and hosted tours for multiple groups visiting the exhibit. |
