USGA Summary Points:Twenty alternative and native grass species were established at 3 sites in Central California. Differences were detected for NDVI, plant density, and stand height. Overall, Festuca ovina (sheep fescue), Koeleria macrantha (prairie junegrass), and Muhlenbergia rigens (deer grass) established poorly and do not show promise for establishment from seed.
