USGA Summary Points:Twenty zoysiagrass genotypes including 16 experimental lines from Texas A&M and 4 commercial cultivars were established from plugs on two golf courses in Northern California in July 2019. Establishment of all zoysiagrass genotypes was slower than expected, with an average of less than 32% cover 130 days after planting. Cool temperatures, especially average low temperatures, were most likely a limiting factor for turf establishment. Despite less than ideal establishment, there was considerable variation among the genotypes in terms of growth, texture, and color.
