USGA Summary Points: | The use of flat-tipped pH electrodes permitted a more robust method of quantifying the pH of growth media at ambient temperatures. Iron sulfate reduced the pH of the media over the course of the experiment, suggesting that it is important to note this change in trials of this type in order to avoid mis-interpreting results. Results indicate that pH changes caused by iron sulfate treatments is not the only mechanism behind suppression of Microdochium nivale in vitro. |
