USGA Summary Points:In collaboration with Dr. David Huff and Chris Benson at Penn State University, a diploid buffalograss genome was sequenced. Diploid buffalograss breeding populations have increased seed size and seed weight. Distinct diploid buffalograss populations are being developed to satisfy a market need for seeded diploid buffalograss varieties.
