USGA Summary Points:The DAYCENT and DNDC models were parameterized, calibrated, and validated for zoysiagrass with field data from Braun and Bremer (2018a, 2019) and Lewis and Bremer (2013). Daily N2O fluxes and annual cumulative N2O emissions were well modelled and adequately validated by DAYCENT for different irrigation and fertilization practices, whereas performance of DNDC was poor. In C4 turfgrass such as zoysiagrass, DAYCENT can well simulate the impacts of irrigation and N-fertilization practices on N2O emissions in daily and cumulative N2O fluxes, better than DNDC.
