Abstract/Contents:Presents a study with the following objectives: "1. To evaluate seashore paspalum genotypes for resistance to mole crickets. 2. To evaluate seashore paspalum genotyopes [genotypes] for resistance to fall armyworms. 3. To evaluate the development and survival of two-lined spittlebugs on seashore paspalum genotypes. 4. To evaluate the tolerance of seashore paspalum to feeding injury of Japanese beetle grubs." States that "turfgrass selections including 21 paspalums and 12 zoysiagrasses were compared with susceptible KY31 tall fescue and more resistant common bermudagrass and common centipedegrass for potential resistance to fall armyworm." Reports that "the zoysiagrasses continue to demonstrate the best resistance to fall armyworm, while several bermudagrasses appear promising...Highest grub densities were found on Adalayd and Taliaferro paspalums and Royal zoysiagrass. No grubs at all were found in any of six of the 18 paspulums included in the study." This five-year study began in 1998.
