Abstract/Contents: | "Newport Bluegrass was grown in solution culture in which various amounts of a given element were supplied. Rate of growth of tops was related to mineral content. Minimum tissue levels associated with approximately maximum yields were: N 3.5%, P 0.4%, K 1.0%, and Mg 350 ppm. Calcium gave a poorly defined yield versus clipping concentration relationship presumably because calcium first exerts its limiting effect on normal root function." |
