Abstract/Contents: | Recommends that golf course superintendents return to "a simpler approach to golf turf management that is based on sound biological and ecological principles." Discusses the "increasing occurrence...of certain diseases, relatively new (and poorly understood) diseases, pressure caused by increased nematode presence and the cancellation of important pesticides." Concludes that the golf course industry needs "someone who can outline the issues involved in managing a 200-to-300 acre landscape in the face of climate changes and produce a product that looks and plays the same every day." |
