Abstract/Contents:Offers suggestions for managing natural areas on golf courses, explaining that "a principle in ecology states that the highest biological diversity often occurs in natural areas that are periodically disturbed." Suggests that "most golf courses have the potential to provide great wildlife habitat if managed appropriately." Concludes that if a superintendent wants "to maximize the conservation value of [a course], [he] may need to take over Mother Nature's role and periodically disturb [the natural] habitat."
