Abstract/Contents:Briefly discusses khakiweed (Alternanthera pungens), explaining that "because khakiweed grows in flat patches, it can't be controlled by mowing. It produces numerous seeds with sharp burs that not only casue injury but also allow the seeds to be easily transported." States that golf courses in Las Cruces and Alamagordo, New Mexico, have been severely affected by khakiweed and "have found control measures to be expensive."
