| Abstract/Contents: | Briefly discusses golf course industry products introduced in 2010 and mentions possibilities for expansion in 2011. Highlights Bayer Environmental Science's products, including the nematicide Nortica, the post-emergence herbicide Celsius, and the pre-emergence herbicide Specticle. Reports that "Zylam (active ingredient dinotefuran), a new turf insecticide from PBI [Private Brands Incorporated]/Gordon, is expected to be available for shipment in early 2011." Describes the mechanism of Zylam's effect on insects, noting that "the product is translocated through the plant's xylem, but it is also rapidly absorbed through translaminar activity when it is applied to foliage." Mentions Katana, Q4 plus, and Trimec 1000 as other products due out in 2011 through PBI/Gordon. |
