| USGA Summary Points: | Hybrid progeny derived from an open pollinated creeping bentgrass and colonial bentgrass crossing block were developed. Species specific genetic markers coupled with the FTA PlantSaver Card DNA extraction technique supported rapid hybrid detection. A recurrent breeding cycle was established to develop and evaluate new bentgrass hybrids in Beltsville, MD and Lincoln, NE. |
