USGA Summary Points:The research expands our knowledge and understanding of NDVI variation within fairways by comparing ground-based physical soil characteristics and NDVI. Variability maps of laboratory measured plant available water were developed and correlated to key soil physical parameters. Moderate negative and positive correlations between plant available water and soil physical properties were documented. TDR 350 does not appear to provide effective EC measurements compared to lab-based EC. Accessibility to GPS-enabled soil moisture instruments and mapping procedures provide a valuable tool for superintendents to implement site-specific management practices for irrigation management.
