Abstract/Contents:"The soil microbiome impacts the health of the turf plant through biogeochemical nutrient cycling, and other aspects that are vital to the healthy growth of the plant. Understanding the complexities of the relationships between microbial life and the turf plant in less-than-ideal conditions is important with every changing climate conditions. Hydrophobic soils affect the moisture content of the soil and thus have some degree of affect on the soil microbiome, which does not only impact the microbiology present, but that of the turf as well. With greater knowledge of the impacts of hydrophobicity on the soil microbiome will come greater knowledge on how to alleviate soil hydrophobicity and possibly reduce water usage that is required for healthy turf."
