Abstract/Contents:Discusses golf course siting and design, noting that golf green committees tend to disregard suggestions from golfers. "A man may be the greatest living expert in this branch of the golfing profession, but however great his knowledge may be, and however thoroughly he may have thought out his subject and his plan of campaign, it is always possible for someone to make a happy suggestion which would be of material advantage." States that it is not necessary to build in the hazards right away and that the course should be played first to determine the best placing of hazards. "Rome was not built in a day, and you cannot build a golf course in a day."
